Foxy Brown and Nicki Minaj in Illuminati

Posted by locsvideos on August 3, 2010 at 2:30 PM Comments comments (0)

Did Foxy Brown get arrested on purpose to promote an appearance, an album and other assorted things like leather skirts? I'm just saying. And then she did something that was even more baffling! She got on MTV and praised Nicki Minaj! LMAO!!!! Now, you know Foxy was two shakes of a big butt away from disssing Nicki Minaj earlier this year. What changed? Who knows? There are rumors that Nicki bailed her out of jail. And then there is the good old fashioned Illuminati... who knows!

Rick Ross robbed by crips in Cali

Posted by locsvideos on August 3, 2010 at 2:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Some people purporting to be members of the Crips hit me up and said that they gave Rick Ross a real hard time out in Cali. I'm really not sure of Ross' wearabouts in recent days since his CD dropped. But, I have been informed that he was out in Cali and was relieved of some merchandise by the Crips. Now, at first I was told that Ross was robbed and kidnapped, but the kidnapped part was completely false. These Crips have apparently proclaimed that this is just the beginning of the mayhem they plan to impose on rappers that don't....do...whatever they are supposed to do. Honestly,I don't know what that is. Cats used to have to pay or something.

New Slip-N-Slide Artist Swazy Baby Talks Record Deal, Hit Single 'I Sang'

Posted by locsvideos on August 3, 2010 at 2:20 PM Comments comments (0)

(AllHipHop News) Slip-N-Slide’s newest signee sat down with AllHipHop.com to speak about his recent success and life as an artist on Florida’s #1 independent record label, Slip-N-Slide Records.

“It’s been a new experience. I got signed to a major label and its been good as far as them doing their job promoting my music and letting me choose which song I can put out," Swayze Baby told AllHipHop.com. "Everything been gravy. Not trying to move too fast and not too slow.”

Swazy Baby, like many artists in the game, had a tough start growing up.

But Ted Lucas, CEO of Slip-N-Slide Records and his manager Bigga Rankin have invested in Swazy, hoping he's the next big thing for the label, which has produced stars like Rick Ross, Plies and Trina.

“Im from Cordele, Albany, Rochelle, Vianna Hawkinsville, Terry, Valdosta, it’s a lot of small cities, and I’m doing it for the small cities," Swazy Baby said. "Not just in Georgia . When people see me they like, ‘he from the country’. I just want to be an example of what country dudes can do, you know what I’m saying?”

As the single “I Sang” picks up many people are starting to recognize that the 19-year-old is also a singer in addition to being a lyricist.

“I’m at 200 plus spins on the radio at this point and we are shooting the video for it soon. We shot part 1 but we are shooting part 2 in Atlanta,” Swazy Baby told AllHipHop.com.

Although Swazy is from the country area of Georgia, he makes it clear that the rural areas of the south are still just as dangerous and rough as the major cities that receive more recognition.

“Everyone rapping and everyone trapping. It ain’t no different from the big city," Swazy Baby said. "If that s**t were big like the city it would be the same thing. "F**kas out there robbin, killing. Its big time dope dealers down there who can get a vehicle and turn it into another vehicle. We may have chickens and cows, but people still got choppers and all that. Don’t think you can come down here and run the country ni**a.”

Staying humble, Swazy Baby says the success hasn’t changed him though.

“That Slip-N-Slide stuff don’t phase me because I already had the popularity that I had before so I am still the same person. I don’t got no style my ni**a, I think you can only go so far limiting the type of music that you make.”

ChartWatch for July 27, 2010: Eminem Tops Rick Ross

Posted by locsvideos on August 3, 2010 at 2:14 PM Comments comments (0)

It was close this week but Eminem continues his reign on the Charts . His latest album, Recovery, moves another 187,968 bringing his total five weeks sales to 1,690,534. Em is well on his way to double platinum.

This is sure to cause a huge back-and-forth in the comment section but Rick Ross takes the number two spot. The Miami rapper released Teflon Don last week and to date it has sold 176,000 copies. Not bad for first week sales. Like a commenter said last week Hip Hop fans (or at least the more vocal ones) appear to have lost their sense of objectivity. This means that the comment section will be full of people that either love or hate Ross. Names will be called and comparisons will be made (ex. “Commenter name here” is a “derogatory name here” if he thinks that “rapper name here” is better than “rapper name here”;) so here we go. I mean…I like music by Nas, Blu, Eminem, Kool G Rap, Rick Ross, 50 Cent, The Roots, De La Soul, Young Jeezy, (this could really go forever) and I can even say The Black Eyed Peas put out a listenable song on occasion. But do I care enough to really argue with someone about their music? Will I discuss? Yes. Agree and disagree? Yes. But really argue? Nah…I’m good. But hey, that’s just me. I just like music….but to each his own. Let’s just try to support the music. Actually, f#*% all that. I don’t care if they’ve made a good song or two…I really can’t stand the Black Eyed Peas…and since were on it I can’t stand Plies either.

Drake also drops one spot, from 3 to 4, but his debut, Thank Me Later, still sells 49,118 copies. So far the Canadian MC has sold 895,160 copies. I’m predicting he goes platinum stateside in three more weeks. We’ll see…

Next up is an artist that needs to be heard more on the radio. Big Boi’s, Sir Lucious Leftfoot the Son of Chico Dusty, moves another 18,419 copies bringing the albums total three week sales to 101,543. C’mon Def Jam…..where’s the big push for Big Boi?

Now we come to a group that actually moved up the charts. The Black Eyed Peas jump from 23 to 22 with their Hip Pop album, The E.N.D. This week the group sells 15,074 copies bringing The E.N.D’s total sales to 2,669,880. Wow. When this group came out they were your average Hip Hop group but one average singer and a few cheesy pop songs later their millionaires. Well, I’m sure Will.I.Am and Fergie make money. I don’t know about the other two. How much money do you get for standing in the background and making odd hand movements?

B.o.B also climbs up the charts, rising from 30 to 28, selling 12,453 of his debut The Adventures of Bobby Ray. This brings the Atlanta MC’s total sells to 298,397.

Finally, The Roots drop seven spots, to 45, selling 8,835 copies of their ninth studio album, How I Got Over. This brings the Philly groups total sales to 99,976. Hey, Def Jam has three artists on the countdown. Can you guys pump some of that Rick Ross money in the Big Boi and The Roots direction? Do they need to make a song about Big Meech? Do you want them to get a Fergie because we can find a Fergie?

The Cast Of MTV's "Jersey Shore" Want More Money, Producers Ready To Pull The Plug

Posted by locsvideos on July 19, 2010 at 4:26 PM Comments comments (0)

The cast of MTV's "The Jersey Shore" have gone on strike and refuse to continue filming the 3rd season of the hit show until their demands are met. Although the producers of the show, 495 Productions, have stated that they want to continue working with The Situation, Pauly D and Snookie, they feel that the rest of the cast members are expendable. So much for collective bargaining, these paisans better smarten up before 495 starts open casting calls.
